ACP Alumni Estela Villacis Receives Prestigious Brooke Owens Fellowship
We are thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Estela Villacis, a 2021 graduate of our Armory College Prep program, who has been named a 2025 Brooke Owens Fellow. This nationally acclaimed fellowship program recognizes outstanding undergraduate women and gender minorities demonstrating exceptional promise in the fields of space and aviation.
Estela, currently a senior at Washington University in St. Louis majoring in Mechanical Engineering, was selected from a highly competitive pool of over 400 applicants from universities across the globe, including Ivy League institutions, major research universities, HBCUs, and international universities. The rigorous selection process included evaluations of technical and creative submissions, interviews, and reviews by leading aerospace companies. Fellows are chosen based on their talent, dedication to aerospace careers, creativity, leadership, and community engagement.
The Brooke Owens Fellowship provides Estela with an executive-level mentor in the aerospace industry, a Brookie Alumni Mentor, a paid summer internship, and participation in the annual Brooke Owens Summit. She also joins a powerful network of over 350 Brookie alumni making strides in various aspects of space and aviation.
